The Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) is an information system linked to all State, Local, and Federal criminal justice agencies and the Judicial Information Center. The CJIS central database is used by all major components of the criminal justice system to retrieve critical criminal justice data and produce needed documents and manages caseloads.
The CJIS database consists of data on Offenders, Arrests and Incidents, Case, Charge, and Dispositions; Victims and Witnesses; Fines Receivable and Payments; Court Schedules; Correction’s Control and Location data and Wanted Persons. All Delaware law enforcement agencies, JP Courts, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Correction directly update this database.

CJIS data is shared among agencies through the DELJIS network linking the state to federal information systems, NCIC (National Crime Information Center) and, NLETS (National Law Enforcement Telecommunications Network). The DELJIS network is part of the overall Delaware data communications infrastructure.

To modernize the DELJIS user interface, the Delaware State Police has chosen the Portal 100 enhanced browser solution. Portal 100, replaces Enforcer as it is deployed on desktops, laptops and in patrol cars and is accessible via state network, wireless communication and through the internet
